Description: The Jeep Wrangler Freedom Top is a fiberglass topper that is just begging to be racked.  This application was definitely a custom job as the customer wanted the track split between the rear part of the topper and the front “Freedom Top.”  We tracked this jeep up lickety split and got them back off to Missouri (where they left from the night before just to have us do this custom install!)

Description: The Jeep Wrangler Freedom Top is a fiberglass topper that is just begging to be racked.  The Yakima 42″ tracks were an excellent fit for this vehicle and made a perfect mounting point for the Yakima Mega Warrior.  Mounting hardware is through-bolt style which means having attachment points under the top, but since it’s sealed against the elements you’re set to go out on any adventure the Wrangler will allow.

Description: This is a perfect setup for hauling kayaks and canoes.  The crew cab portion of the vehicle is nice and long so it allowed us to space these bars 43″ apart.  This will create an insanely stable base rack system for hauling any boats, ladders, lumber, or just about anything else you can think of.  A custom permanent mount from one of our rack experts will allow any customer to customize their rack so that it is specifically catered towards their needs!

Description: The Mazda 3 series comes ready for a rack straight from Mazda.  Each side of the car has 2 anchor points into which the Thule 3069 Fit Kit fits perfectly.  This fixed point mounting system makes a very strong base rack that is capable of handling nearly any load from bikes, to boards, to boats, or in this case, a Thule Atlantis 1600 cargo carrier.  Boasting 16 cubic feet of space, this box is perfect for nearly any activity.  Long enough to fit skis or fishing poles, but wide enough to fit your 1970 pea green hard sided suitcase.

Description: The Pontiac Vibes factory roof rack is one of a kind.  Though it looks incredibly sleek, only taking up a short portion of the roof on the back, attaching accessories to carry bikes, boards, and cargo can present a challenge.  In this case we used 2 Yakima Rail Grab towers and a 58″ cross bar in the rear portion of the vehicle to create a stable crossbar.  In the front we used a Yakima Landing Pad 6 coupled with 2 Control Towers and and another 58″ crossbar.  A permanent install makes for a really stable base that is incredibly easy to uninstall and reinstall.  This is definitely a great rack setup for any Vibe on the road!

Description: This Audi A-4 belongs to an employee of our friends over at Eriks Bike Shop up in Maple Grove, MN.  Because he works in the cycling industry, this guy came to us with a trunk full of rack parts and a blank look when it came to putting it on.  Lucky for him we at Rack Attack Minneapolis do installations of racks new or old, purchased here or elsewhere, as long as we have the proper tools needed to create a recommended fit.  Upon completion of the racks installation, one of our rack experts will explain to you the different features of the rack, as well as answer any questions that you may have.  We take pride in ensuring not only that you leave our store with a great product installed properly on your vehicle, but one that you can understand and operate on your own as well.

This Wrangler is TOUGH!

This 1999 Jeep Wrangler was already one tough ride when it first came into our shop.  With a Jeep snorkel, lightbar, and winch this thing was almost the ultimate off road vehicle….. almost!  When heading out to the middle of the swamp to test out the mean-ness of the beast there are some more parts, accessories, and general cargo that need to come along with you.  Anyone thats ever been inside the Wrangler knows that, though its a perfect off-roading vehicle, there isn’t much space left in the back of the vehicle to haul the rest of your gear.  Enter the Yakima Loadwarrior, a 44″ x 39″ x 6.5″ basket capable of carrying nearly anything you can fit up there.

Yakima Control Towers and Landing Pad 1

To start off this project we needed to set up a Yakima base rack system to connect the Yakima Load Warrior to.  The Yakima base rack that we decided on was a custom, permanent fixed point setup that is capable of carrying up to about 100lbs of cargo.  The Yakima Landing Pad 6 is a great “bolt-through” option that works out great on vehicles with fiberglass roofs or toppers.  The Yakima Control Towers are used to connect the 58″ crossbars to the LP6 that is permanently mounted on the vehicle.  The pieces used to create this Yakima base rack system were the following:

The next piece we added to the Yakima base rack system was the Yakima Load Warrior.  The Load Warrior is a cargo basket that measures 44″x39″x6.5″ and can carry anything from coolers and containers, to an axe and shovel.  Also available from Yakima is an extension that will extend the length of the basket by 18″, as well as a stretch cargo net to keep all of your cargo on top of your vehicle while you’re trompin though the forrest!!
